Sometimes the products your using can be the cause of your skin problems, but a lot of times it is the amount of that product that you apply. When you apply a lot of makeup it makes removal a lot more difficult and sometimes can leave makeup behind on your skin. Makeup sitting on the skin for long periods of time is not good for your skin and should be avoided when possible. Pull back on the amount you use and focus more on the application and how you apply. Another added benefit of applying light layers of makeup is saving money. Obviously, the less product you use the longer it lasts which in turn can save a lot of money on those pricey makeup products.

Remove your makeup

Im sure the last thing you want to do for after a long day is take off all of that makeup, but you need to. For overall skin clarity you need to remove that makeup before bed to clean your pores. Take the little bit of time and remove your makeup, your skin will thank you.

Adjust your diet

A bad diet has been proven to worsen pre-existing acne conditions and cause breakouts. There are certain foods that have negative effects on your skin and many that have positive effects on your skin. Things like alcohol and dairy have negative effects on your skin health. If you intake these things in moderation you should not have any issues, but if you take in large amounts of alcohol or dairy you may see a direct effect in your skin. Some positive foods are things like antioxidants and Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Taking in healthy amounts of antioxidants and Omega-3 can boost your overall skin health and can definitely be noticed in your overall skin clarity. Just cutting out the fast foods and fueling your skin the right way can have a huge effect on your complexion.

Get enough sleep

You heard me right, I am telling you to get MORE sleep. Sleep has a direct effect on your skin and could be what is holding you back from beautiful clear skin. When you sleep your body regenerates and rejuvenates itself which is huge for your skin. When you deprive yourself of sleep your body does not reach the amount of regeneration it needs to continue the next day. When your body doesnt fully regenerate it can sometimes be shown in your complexion. Check with your doctor to see how much sleep you should be getting. Proper sleep doesnt mean you immediately have perfect skin, but it definitely helps your overall complexion.
